Feb 18, 2023 – Official Ribbon Cutting: New Overlook Park Kiosk by Bethel Eagle Scout Ben Funk

On Saturday, February 18th 2023, Bethel Eagle Scout Ben Funk and his family joined members of the Bethel Land Trust at Overlook Park for an official ribbon cutting of a kiosk Ben built for his service project. Thank you Ben on behalf of the BLT, Bethel Parks & Rec and our community.

For those of you that have been slowly watching something be constructed at Overlook Park, the wait is over. Today, Benjamin Funk completed his Eagle Scout project with the posting of the trail map and informational piece about the property.

As a member of the Bethel Land Trust, I had the great pleasure of working with (although he didn’t need my help) Ben to construct this kiosk.

I could not be any happier with the end results of the kiosk that will help guide many hikers for years to come but more so with my renewed faith that there are youth who enjoy getting outside to contribute to our community by providing a means for others to enjoy some of Bethel’s wonderful open space and parks.

Next time you are looking for something to do, be sure to check out the kiosk and view from the top overlooking downtown Bethel. It’s a quick walk from downtown Bethel to the parks Nashville Rd entrance.
